“If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy.”
There’s so much truth in this. As Moms, we have so much influence on the vibe surrounding our family. I know that my kiddos easily pick up on any tension that I’m holding. I answer with a bit of edge in my voice and my eldest will say, “Mama, don’t be mad at me.”
That is why it is CRUCIAL that you take a break and…dare I say it…take care of YOU! I know it seems like an impossible task. Your toddler is crying, the sink is full of dishes, you’ve started the dryer for the third time… I get you!
But here’s a little secret…if you’re feeling overwhelmed by mom-life, I promise you the BEST thing you can do is take a break and care for yourself first. I’m not saying that you need to leave for the entire day and go to the spa (although…that sounds REALLY nice right now). I’m telling you that you have to give yourself respect and time.
Don’t wait until you’re ready to lock yourself in the bathroom and cry! Get into the practice of self-care, 15 minutes a day.
'Cause guess what? The dishes, the tantrums and the laundry aren’t going away. Sorry.
That doesn’t mean that you can’t face challenges like the Mom-Boss you are! Or, DISCOVER the Mom-Boss that you are by reconnecting with yourself.
I want you to start feeling refreshed and energized NOW.
